Create a contact list

Contact lists are what Notify notifications and VEOC sessions target. A contact who is not on a list receives nothing, so every contact belongs on at least one. Your implementation team helps set the initial lists up; here is how to add your own.

Before you start

You need Contact Manager permissions and contacts already in the database to add as members.

Steps

  1. In the Contact Lists section, click the green Add Contact List button in the top right corner.

  2. Enter a list name and description. Name the list for the nature and location of its members, for example Paddle River Facility Alberta. The name shows on the main screen; the description only shows inside the list record.

  3. (Optional) Check Automatically Notify if this list should receive a system notification whenever a session is activated.

  4. Check the applications this list should be available to. Only checked applications (for example Notify or VEOC) can use the list.

  5. Set the two business unit dropdowns:

    • The top dropdown is the business unit you are creating the list under.

    • The bottom dropdown is the business unit you want to pull contacts from.

  6. Add members: select contacts in the left Contacts column and move them to the right Included Contacts column with the arrow buttons. Full selection, move, and reorder mechanics are in Add, remove, and reorder contacts in a list.

  7. Click the green Save button in the top right corner.
