Review the audit log and retrieve past reports

The audit log records every action taken in a Common Operating Picture (COP+) session: who did what, and when. It is also the only place to retrieve Hazard Area Reports from earlier in an event, since Reporting holds only the current one.

Before you start

The audit log sits under Settings and requires System Administrator permissions in the session. See Understand roles and permissions.

Review the log

  1. Open Settings in the left-hand menu and click Audit Log. The Audit Log table opens.

  2. Select a Session from the drop-down list.

  3. Enter a Date Range.

  4. Click Load Results. The table fills with that session's actions for the range.

  5. To keep a copy, click Export Xls and save the file when it appears (browser dependent: bottom left or top right).

  6. Click Back to Map when you are done.

Retrieve a previous Hazard Area Report

If the hazard area was drawn multiple times, every version's report is retrievable:

  1. In the loaded audit log, find the hazard area entry you need and click the search symbol beside it. The Audit Log Detail window opens.

  2. Click Download Hazard Area Report. A CSV file is created.

  3. Click the file link when it appears, then save it.

Log to the VEOC session

By default, COP+ audit information also appears in the accompanying VEOC session. The Log to Virtual EOC session checkbox on the Permissions page controls this and ships checked. See What VEOC does.
