Change a resident's status

Update a resident's status from the COP+ map, whether they sit inside or outside the hazard area, and the map symbology updates to match.

Change a resident's status

Resident status tracks who has been contacted, who is evacuating, and who needs help on the Common Operating Picture (COP+) map. You can change the status of any resident, inside or outside the hazard area. That matters for residents just outside the boundary who still need notice, for example when the wind shifts.

Before you start

You need the Change Residence Status permission. See Understand roles and permissions.

Steps

  1. Click the residence on the map. The Area Users pop-up window opens.

  2. Click the three dots at the bottom right.

  3. Click Change Status. A window opens asking what status to assign.

  4. Check the new status:

    • Reset to Be Contacted (default)

    • Assistance Required

    • Sheltered In Place

    • Evacuating

    • At Reception Centre

    • Call Requested

  5. Confirm. The map symbology for the residence updates to the new status.

Change statuses in bulk

To update many residents at once during a callout, use the Callout Area Users window, which also colour-codes each row to match the map symbology.
