View and export the organizational chart
The organizational chart shows your command structure at a glance: which positions exist, who fills them, and who reports to whom. Once positions are assigned, the chart updates with the live information, and anyone in the Virtual Emergency Operations Centre (VEOC) session can view it on desktop or mobile. Export it to PDF to save, print, or post at a physical command post.
Before you start
The chart is only as good as its assignments, so assign positions first. Viewing is open to everyone in the session; editing the chart layout is the Session Initiator's job.
View the chart
Open the Organizational Chart from the left-hand menu. Assigned positions show the user's name; unassigned positions show the box with no user information, so gaps in your structure are visible immediately.
Edit the chart (Initiator)
The Session Initiator can restructure the chart. Click a position in the chart and move the boxes into whatever structure the response requires. To fill a gap without leaving the chart, right-click the position and assign a user to it.
Custom positions land at the bottom of the chart, unconnected, until you move them. See Assign and edit positions.
Export to PDF
Export the chart to a PDF to save and print. The PDF includes:
The chart version (Planning and Current)
The date and time the chart was generated
Assigned positions with the user's name, position, and contact number
Unassigned positions, shown without user information
If you hold an IAP licence, the current org chart is also included automatically in every auto-generated ICS 201 form.
On mobile: from the main menu, select the Users tab, then tap the Organizational Chart icon in the top right corner. You see users, their positions, and contact numbers. The mobile chart is view-only; to change an assignment, use Users then Edit Position.
