Self-registration for external contacts

External contacts can add themselves to your notification database without anyone on your team entering them by hand. H2Safety provides a registration link (which you can also turn into a QR code) that you share with the people you want to be able to reach. They fill out a short form, and they appear in your Web Registrations contact list in Notify, ready to be added to notifications.

This article is written from the registrant's point of view. If you are an administrator, use it to plan how you will distribute the link and to help anyone who gets stuck during sign-up.

What an external contact does

  1. Open the registration link for the first time. A registration window appears.

  2. Fill out the form, then choose a password that meets the listed criteria.

  3. Choose your preferred notification methods. SMS, voice, and email are all selected by default. Deselect any you do not want to receive.

  4. Click the green Register button in the top-right corner. This adds you to the organization's Web Registrations contact list.

  5. If your browser offers to save your username and password, click Save or Never, whichever you prefer.

Good to know

  • Your email address becomes your username. Once you register, you sign in with that email.

  • Your email cannot be changed later because it is the name your login is tied to. If an email address needs to change, register a new account.

  • You can update your other details any time by signing in with the same registration link and editing your information on the Edit Contact Information screen, then clicking Save All.

  • The link does double duty. Before you register it shows the sign-up form; after you register it shows a sign-in prompt instead.

For administrators

Once someone registers, they appear under Contacts in the Web Registrations contact list in Notify, and you can add that list to any notification like any other. Plan your link distribution (email, posted QR code, onboarding packet) so the right people register before you need to reach them, not during an event.
