Set up multiple notification radii

Add up to three notification radii around one asset so your team gets a fresh round of alerts each time the fire crosses a closer ring.

Set up multiple notification radii

One zone can carry up to three notification radii. Each ring is a tripwire: the outer ring gives your team early warning, and every closer ring the fire crosses triggers another full round of notifications. Escalation is built into the geometry.

Take ring distances from your Emergency Response Plan.

Before you start

You need initiator or administrative access, a session, and an existing zone. If you have not drawn the zone yet, start with Add a notification zone.

Steps

  1. On the map, click the zone circle and click Edit Zone.

  2. Click the + sign next to the radius. A dropdown appears where you can add radii, to a maximum of three.

  3. Set each radius distance.

  4. Click OK to save, then click Show Fires and Zones to refresh your view.

How the rings alert

With three radii you see three circles around the asset. The outer circle is the largest radius and the first line of notification:

  • Fire touches the outer ring: the assigned contact list gets a notification by email, text, and phone call, where those channels are selected.

  • Fire reaches the second ring: another full set of notifications goes out.

  • Fire reaches the third ring: a third set goes out.

Each round tells your team the fire is closer, so nobody has to watch the map to know the threat is escalating.
