Platform and applications
H2CommandCentre — the web portal holding all H2Safety emergency management applications behind one sign-in. See What H2CommandCentre does.
COP+ (Common Operating Picture) — the live emergency mapping application: hazard areas, resident statuses, resources, and callout.
VEOC (Virtual Emergency Operations Centre) — the virtual operations room: sessions, forum messaging, ICS forms, positions, and reports.
Notify — the mass notification application for voice, SMS, and email, with response tracking.
Contact Manager — the application that manages contacts, contact lists, business units, and user accounts for the whole platform.
E-ERP (Electronic Emergency Response Plans) — the application that stores your response plans for search, viewing, and download.
Wildfire — the COP+ module for tracking fires and firing callouts when a fire meets a notification zone.
GRP (Geographic Response Plan) — a plan of pre-identified control points for spill response, shown in the GRP – Control Points application.
Sessions and response
Session — the container for one event or exercise: its map, messages, files, and people. See Create a session.
Session type — a label on every session (Test, Training, Exercise, Emergency, Confidential) for reference and tracking. It does not change functionality.
Callout — the automated phone, SMS, and email machinery that mobilizes teams and notifies residents. See Understand callout.
Forum — a session's message board in VEOC for general, urgent, direct, and private messages, plus files.
Breakout room — a focused messaging space within a VEOC session for a specific group of users.
Hazard area — the area drawn on the COP+ map around an incident; residences inside it feed the callout list.
Notification zone — a pre-built Wildfire area that triggers callout when a fire boundary touches it. Zones are session agnostic.
Emergency level — the severity rating assigned to a session through VEOC's Emergency Assessment Matrix.
EOC (Emergency Operations Centre) — the physical or virtual room where a response is coordinated. VEOC is the virtual version.
EPZ (Emergency Planning Zone) — the geographic area around a facility or well requiring emergency planning under regulation.
ERP (Emergency Response Plan) — the regulatory-required plan document; E-ERP is its electronic home.
ICS (Incident Command System) — the standardized response management structure; VEOC provides ICS Canada forms.
IAP (Incident Action Plan) — the plan for a response operational period.
AER / BCER — the Alberta Energy Regulator and the British Columbia Energy Regulator, the primary regulators the platform's plans serve.
People and access
Credentialed user — a user with a full H2CommandCentre account, activated by accepting an invitation. Signs in to web and mobile.
Non-credentialed user — a participant without an account who joins sessions through invite links with two-factor authentication. See Credentialed vs non-credentialed users.
Session initiator — the user who creates a session, invites users, and can rename or end it.
Observer — a session participant who can watch but cannot send notifications or use system features.
Roles — per-application access levels: Super Admin, Admin, User, No Access. See Understand roles and permissions.
Business unit — Contact Manager's grouping for organizing contacts within your company.
Contact list — a saved group of contacts used for invitations, callouts, and notifications. See Create a contact list.
